League Rules

A League Rules:

   - The A league will adhere to the GHSA rules that are in place for all Georgia High schools https://www.ghsa.net/sites/default/files/documents/Constitution/Constitution22-23completecx33.pdf

   - The only rule for the A League that will be different than the GHSA is your batting lineup may bat a straight 9, 9 with a dp/flex, or everyone on your A roster. A teams may not bat 9 with an Extra Hitter.

Additional Rules for A League:

   - 9 players must be selected as locked in A league roster spots and not permitted to drop down to the B team to play. 

   - A pitcher from the A team can only be dropped down to pitch for the B team if they have pitched less than 20% of the innings played in the regular season. 

B League Rules:

   -The B league will adhere to the GHSA rules in all categories except for the following:

1.           Teams batting lineups may consist of a straight 9, 10 batters with one being an EH, or batting everyone on your roster. There is no need for a DP/Flex in this League.
2. Free Defensive Substitutions 

Additional Rules for the B League:

   - Any player that is a 6th grader or higher is permitted to be called up to the A team, however no 5th graders are allowed to be called up under any circumstance. 

League Rules for Team Rosters:

   -Teams may not carry more than 25 players total on a roster if the school has an A and B roster. 

   -If the school only has one team total whether in A or B League, then they may only have a total roster size of 15. 

***If a player that is not one of the 15 players selected for the team but is cut and wishes to remain with that team as a practice player instead of playing for another program, they are allowed to do so. However, this player will only be eligible for practices and not permitted to play in any games or tournaments unless approved by the league director. Players staying with a team as a practice player only must be reported to the league director.***

   -Schools may not add a 5th grader to their roster and cut a 6th,7th, or8th grader. The grades higher than 5th must be selected first. 5th graders may only be added to a B teams' roster that has a need for more players. If a school has 5th graders and does NOT have room for them on their roster, these 5th graders can be added to the leagues list to be placed on other school's teams that have a need in the b league.
